Streaming: How FaceFilter Integrates with Broadcast Pipelines

Integration patterns for live broadcasts

Understand the setup using virtual camera output and window capture. Learn how to choose the right approach for your hardware and audience needs.

Explained

FaceFilter uses window capture to stream avatar output into OBS Studio/Streamlabs via a virtual camera. With your subscription, you have access to the streaming and admin apps to then use in your broadcast pipeline.

We provide a default setup for OBS Studio which can be downloaded in the 'Stream' tab of your model for quick import and integration.

The output from your streaming software can then be used in your broadcast pipeline, streaming to your audience on platforms like Twitch, YouTube or Facebook Live.

Top tips

  • Choose a neutral, rarely used background color in FaceFilter to simplify chroma keying in OBS Studio.
  • Control the lighting in the admin app to ensure consistent and flattering illumination of your avatar.
  • Use a second monitor to manage your stream and monitor performance.
  • Adjust OBS Studio's canvas resolution to match your avatar output for optimal quality.
  • Regularly update FaceFilter and OBS Studio to benefit from performance improvements and new features.
